Primary Blog/Owning Your Power and Embracing Your Worth: Insights from My Chat with Sherri Leopold

Every now and then, a conversation completely shifts how you view yourself and the way you approach life and business. That’s exactly what happened when I interviewed the inspiring Sherri Leopold on my Born or Made podcast. Sherri is a mentor, a warrior for personal empowerment, and the driving force behind the Stop Self-Bullying movement and the WOW Warrior platform. Our conversation centered on the power of self-talk, overcoming limiting beliefs, and how women can stand tall as the unrepeatable miracles they truly are.

Sherri introduced a concept that struck a chord with me: self-bullying. It’s that critical, negative voice in our heads that whispers, “I’m not good enough,” or “Who am I to do this?” We often speak to ourselves in ways we would never dream of speaking to a friend or loved one. It’s as if we’re holding ourselves hostage with words that tear us down instead of building us up. Sherri’s reminder was simple but profound: just because you think something doesn’t mean it’s true. The key is to challenge those thoughts, interrupt the cycle, and replace them with truths that lift us up.

This hit home for me. In my business, I’ve had moments where I’ve questioned myself, my work, and my value. When a project gets hard, or I step into something unfamiliar, that little voice of doubt creeps in. But Sherri gave me a tool to fight back: the SNAP technique. It’s as simple as snapping your fingers to physically interrupt those negative thoughts, and in that moment, choosing to replace them with affirmations that empower you. It’s such a small thing, but it works. Now, when I catch myself spiraling into self-doubt, I snap, reset, and tell myself something constructive—“I’m learning,” “I’m growing,” “I’m creating something valuable.” It’s a simple act of reclaiming control over my mindset, and it’s already making a difference.

Another insight that really stood out to me was Sherri’s observation about women and negativity. She pointed out that, as women, we often hold on to negativity longer than we need to. We replay mistakes in our minds, bond with others over shared struggles, and carry emotional baggage far beyond its expiration date. It’s as if we’re wired to internalize and nurture negativity instead of letting it go. Sherri’s advice? Surround yourself with people who see your greatness and won’t let you wallow in doubt—your WOW Warriors. These are the people who lift you up, call you out when you’re being too hard on yourself, and remind you of your worth.

For me, this was a wake-up call. I’m now more intentional about my circle—the people who inspire me to rise and who reflect the best version of myself back to me. In my business, I’m also doubling down on being that positive voice for my clients. When I help them see the value in their work and their offers, I’m not just helping them grow their business—I’m helping them reclaim their confidence and power.

One of the most impactful parts of our conversation was Sherri’s signature message: “Stand up and stand out as the unrepeatable miracle that you are.” Think about that for a second. Out of the billions of people on this planet, you are uniquely YOU. Your experiences, your talents, your voice—no one else has what you have to offer. That’s not just a nice thought; it’s the truth. And yet, so many of us shrink ourselves or downplay our gifts because we don’t believe we’re good enough.

Hearing Sherri talk about this lit a fire in me. In my own work, I see this all the time: clients who feel like their offers aren’t special or their voice doesn’t matter. But here’s the truth—your uniqueness is your superpower. Whether you’re creating a funnel, launching a course, or showing up for your audience, YOU are what makes your business magical. I’m holding onto that truth and sharing it with everyone I work with.

Sherri Leopold’s wisdom is a powerful reminder that we already have everything we need to succeed—we just need to believe it. Stop bullying yourself. Interrupt those negative thoughts. Surround yourself with people who see your light. And most importantly, stand tall as the unrepeatable miracle that you are.

If you find yourself battling self-doubt, I encourage you to try Sherri’s advice. Start small. Challenge one negative thought today and replace it with something empowering. You’ll be amazed at how quickly things start to shift.
